Safety and Security
Your safety and security is a main priority for Ireland West Airport Knock. Please be patient if you have to queue at the check-in desks, security control, or at the boarding gate - the security checks we employ ensure the safety of all our passengers. Please be aware that Ireland West Airport Knock may require you to remove your jackets, belts and shoes when going through security screening.
Before departing for the airport, please confirm what time your airline requires you to check in. Allow sufficient time to travel to the airport, and if applicable, allow for time to park and unload your luggage.
Check in times
Please check your ticket or contact your airline for advice on checking in times, but as a general guide:
- European, UK & Ireland flights - check-in opens two hours before departure
On-line Check in
Passengers who check in on-line should plan to arrive at the terminal building at least 90 minutes before their flight departure time.
Passengers are then advised to proceed directly to the passenger security screening area. Many passengers who check-in on-line are presenting themselves at the security screening area with very little time to spare to get to their Boarding Gate. Passengers are reminded to factor in sufficient time in order to comply with essential security procedures. Web check-in passengers are more likely to have cabin/hand luggage rather than checked in luggage and this in turn increases the amount of security checks at the security screening area.
Passengers are advised to carry ONE piece of hand luggage, and remove ALL sharp items to avoid confiscation. For a full list of Prohibited Items, click here. Laptop computers must be removed from their case and opened to reveal the keyboard.
