Kids’ fun before they fly
Travelling with kids can be a challenge, but at Ireland West Airport, we’ve made it easy. With short queues, friendly staff, and a convenient kids’ play area located right beside the boarding gates, it’s a stress-free experience for the whole family.
Decicated kids area
Our kids’ play area is a dedicated, family-friendly space in our Departures Lounge, located between boarding gates 2 and 3. Designed to make family travel easier, it gives our little passengers a fun place to unwind after security while parents relax nearby.
Clearly signposted and free to use, this area helps reduce pre-flight stress and keeps children entertained while waiting to board. Whether you’re flying for a holiday or visiting family, this convenient spot supports a smoother airport experience for everyone.

Tips for travelling with kids
- Arrive early: If you’re checking in a bag or buggy, passengers are advised to arrive 2 hours before their scheduled flight departure.
- Security screening: carry-on items, including buggies, must be x-rayed. If an item does not fit in the provided trays, a member of staff will inspect it for screening. Electrical devices such as laptops and iPads do not need to be removed from your cabin bags.
- Liquid restrictions: Essential liquids, such as medication, baby products, or dietary requirements exceeding 100ml, are permitted. Please present these separately at security screening for inspection.
- Baby Changing Facilities: you’ll find baby changing facilities beside the bathrooms in departures, arrivals, the main terminal and in Sláinte Barista Café.
