Aer Lingus updates Travel ID Policy effective from 25th February 2026
February 6, 2026
New travel document requirements will come into effect for travel between the Republic of Ireland and the UK on Aer Lingus.
Effective from 25th February 2026, all Aer Lingus customers (including Irish and British nationals) will require a passport or an Irish passport card for travel, and non-Irish and non-British nationals will be required to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) or eVISA.
Photo identification other than a passport or Irish Passport Card will no longer be accepted from that date.
Passengers using Aer Lingus’s daily service to Heathrow from Ireland West Airport are advised to note the new ID requirements if travelling on or after the above date.
