Ireland West Knock Welcomes The Return of Aer Arann to the Dublin PSO Route!

Ireland West Airport Knock welcomes the announcement made today, Tuesday 2nd September, 2008 by the Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey, T.D. that following detailed discussions, a new contract to provide scheduled air services on the Ireland West Knock-Dublin Public Service Obligation (PSO) regional air route has now been offered to Aer Arann. In accordance with PSO route requirements Aer Arann will provide a daily early morning service from Ireland West Knock to Dublin and an evening return service, beginning on October 1st 2008. The contract will cease on 21 July 2011.
 
Welcoming the announcement, CEO of Ireland West Airport Knock, Robert Grealis said: “We are delighted with today’s announcement and know that it will come as relief to many people, businesses and tourism providers in the region who rely heavily on this service. We congratulate Aer Arann on winning the contract and we look forward to building on the good relationships we have with them. On behalf of the Board and staff at Ireland West Airport Knock I would like to thank the Minister and the officials at the Department of Transport who have worked hard to put in place this solution as quickly as possible and for resuming this connectivity which is so vital for the region.”
