Local Sports Star Starts His New Career with Blackburn Rovers FC

Local sports player, Darragh Tuffy waves a fond farewell at Ireland West Airport Knock today (4th July 2006) as he leaves home and sets out to embark on a career as a professional footballer with Blackburn Rovers FC . The talented sixteen year old, who is a son of Michael and Margie Tuffy of Enniscrone, Co. Sligo, is to commence as an apprentice with the high profile club in the UK.

Darragh nurtured his skills by playing soccer and GAA football in his local clubs namely Enniscrone Kilglass F.C. and Enniscrone Kilglass GAA

Mr. Joseph Kennedy, Chairman of Ireland West Airport Knock, presented Darragh with a jersey and complimentary return flight tickets from Manchester to Ireland West Knock so that he can return to his roots in a jiffy!

The team at Ireland West Knock wishes Darragh the very best of luck in his career and hope to see him often on his travels back and forth to the UK.
